Welcome to the BKS Team
Please join me in welcoming Scott Hewitt as the new Managing Director of the BKS Commercial Risk Management Group (CRMG). Scott will be joining our team in February 2024.
As Managing Director, Scott will have responsibility and oversight of the CRMG P&L, and he will take over the leadership of our Commercial Client Experience Team, as well as Risk Mitigation Services and Placement. Scott will focus on driving double-digit organic growth via industry leading sales velocity and retention results.
He will continue our momentum related to Client Experience execution, advancing our industry specialization efforts and creating efficiencies through innovation and automation.
With a strong history of developing talent, Scott is looking forward to advancing our continued efforts of growing our own through the Azimuth Institute and continuous coaching of colleagues.
Scotts Background
Scott comes to BKS from CNA Financial Corp, where he spent his last 13 years. Most recently, he led the Florida team growing that office $178M to $296M and leading all offices countrywide for new business growth in 2023.
Scott’s career is highlighted by a willingness to take on new opportunities, drive successful financial results, and create strong culture through his genuine approach and servant leadership style.
An industry veteran, Scott has developed strong relationships across the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic states, and he is widely viewed within the industry as a collaborator, partner, and compassionate leader.
About Scott
Scott has been married 32 years to his wife, Maria who operates a Financial Coaching business. They raised three sons, Alexander, Nicholas and Owen, and they now have a wonderful daughter-in-law, Kaylie. Alex and Nick are both in the FL insurance market as well, and Owen is an Army Lieutenant in an Arctic Airborne Unit in Alaska. Scott is passionate about his Faith, Family and Fitness. He and Maria have been leading a Young Professionals Group for the last three years. Scott also enjoys a variety of outdoor activities including hiking, paddle boarding, pickleball and triathlons. Originally from Ohio, Scott remains a committed Cleveland sports fan, but he is willing to embrace the local teams as well.
Scott will have an amazing support network within the CRMG team, and he is looking forward to meeting and working closely with everyone in the coming weeks. Amy Ingram and I will be working closely with Scott to ensure that he receives the proper BKS welcome during his orientation and onboarding.
