This program is part two of a three-part special session and will provide participants with an understanding of HIPAA’s Privacy and Security Rule compliance requirements for covered entities.
Participants will review:
- Compliance obligations for employer plan sponsors when there are self-funded health plans at play.
- The importance of physical, administrative, and technological safeguards for assuring the availability, confidentiality, and integrity of each plan’s protected health information.
- Understanding and performing the covered entity’s security risk assessment, as required by the Security Rule.
- Actionable implementation specifications for employers, and how they can administer security and data-related safeguards.
